The Hirsch Phenomenon (part 27)

"So I think it's that me and Alex can't leave the town border because... well, we're not characters obviously. No offense" Mirra said, glancing at Dipper. "Like, we're not allowed to leave the town because we're not supposed to be here in the first place."

"Something like that." Alex muttered.

Suddenly the truck screeched to a halt. There was some sort of car accident in the middle of the road. Mirra and Alex groaned and the group got out of the truck.

Mirra walked over to the crash, narrowly avoiding McGucket, who was flailing about yelling some sort of gibberish. He continued running around the crash, and soon deputy Durland started chasing him around. Blubbs just shook his head sadly.

"What happened?" Mirra asked the sheriff. 

"We're still not quite sure." Blubbs admitted. "It seems that something crashed into a parked car. Hit and run. As far as we can tell, there were no witnesses except Mr. Nut-job over there." He said, thumbing over to where Durland was still chasing McGucket around in circles.

"Halt in the name of the law!" Durland exclaimed.

"Anyway, we just called to get a tow truck to get the stuff out of the road." Blubbs continued.

"Is there a detour?" Mirra asked.

"Where'r you headed?" 

"The Mystery Shack."

"I'm afraid not. The only way around from here would take just as long as it would for you to wait here until the road's clear."

"Why did this have to happen NOW?" Mirra groaned.

"Sorry, m'am. Just a bad day I suppose."

Mirra turned around to face the group.

"Are you guys willing to wait?"

Dipper shrugged. 

"Anything's cool with me, dude." Soos replied. Mabel nodded.

"Alex?" Mirra asked, soon realizing that Alex was not in sight. "ALEX!?" She growled and swore at the same time, making the words she was saying virtually incomprehensible. She glanced at the rest of the group.

"Anyone have any idea where Alex is?"

Dipper shrugged again. Mirra frowned and Dipper glared.

"I think he got knocked over into the woods by that prospector dude." Soos offered. Mirra facepalmed.

"Dangit!" She said. "ALEX!?" She ran towards the woods, then stopped and looked at Soos. "Stay with the truck." Soos saluted as if he was in the military.

"Yes, sir!" He said. "Er. I mean ma'm?" He offered, noticing the mistake. Mirra shrugged and kept running. Mabel and Dipper soon followed.

They stopped running once they got into the forest. Mirra called for Alex again. Still no response.

"Friggin' McGucket!" She breathed. She glanced over at the twins. "Fifty bucks says that he was the one who caused that accident in the first place." The twins nodded.
