It all started as an innocent halloween party. Guests came in different themed costumes. Some were witches, owls, mad scientists, even a stick figure. When I got upstairs, Bailey and her friends were waiting. The boys were off in a separate room.
“Do you guys want to have some fun?”Bailey asked.
“Come on, let’s sabotage the boys.”
We went downstairs to the room the boys were hanging out in. I was supposed to spy on them.
Fake spider webs hung on the ceiling. Most of the boys were absorbed in the horror movie they were watching. Others played with flashlights. None of them noticed me. I was about to leave, but I saw a orange flash in the sky. It would have been a shooting star, if it wasn’t so close.
I ran outside to try to see it better. No sign of it. I gave up and went upstairs.
The girls were getting a movie ready, laughing at jokes. None of them had noticed the flash. I saw movement coming from the bathroom. A towel moved. No one was there.
I went on the balcony to see if I could see the flash better. Something wooshed by my head. I panicked and shut the door.
The lights went out in the middle of the movie. On of the girls moaned in protest.
Then I heard screams from the boy’s room downstairs. A few boys ran up the stairs.
“Close the doors, close the doors!” They yelled.
Footsteps came up the stairs slowly. Someone was brave enough to open the door.
The strobe light was still on! Silhouetted by the light, a figure stood in the hall. The person who opened the door screamed and closed it. Then the window shattered.
Panic. Every one rushed out the doors, only to be met by the same orange light.
Then everything went black.
